OpenBMC & UEFI on Neoverse RD-V3
Overview
This project integrates OpenBMC and UEFI on a Neoverse RD-V3 FVP, building a pre-silicon management workflow spanning BMC startup, host boot, UART, Serial over LAN and the IPMI command path. The architecture lets the BMC and host-firmware startup sequence, console access and management interfaces be observed and debugged before a physical server platform exists. Its ecosystem value is connecting open-source BMC, standard server firmware and the Arm virtual platform into a common baseline for firmware integration and CI validation.
Scope of verification
- The implementation confirms BMC/host boot, UART, Serial over LAN and the specified IPMI interaction paths on the RD-V3 FVP; evidence is limited to virtual-platform behavior.
- It does not validate a physical BMC, board-management I/O, power sequencing, full Redfish coverage, hardware fault handling or production server manageability.
