Voice AI at the Edge
Overview
On a DGX Spark, this project integrates PyAudio, WebRTC VAD, faster-whisper and vLLM into a local voice-AI pipeline spanning microphone capture, speech segmentation, transcription and text response. The Grace Arm CPU handles audio I/O, VAD and the speech-to-text workflow while the Blackwell GPU runs language-model generation, showing a heterogeneous split between voice preprocessing and generative AI. Its ecosystem value is a voice-application baseline where data stays on-device, while leaving room to swap and tune each open-source component.
Scope of verification
- The workflow validates voice input, segmented transcript and text response under the specified DGX Spark, microphone, VAD, transcription model and vLLM configuration; output does not include TTS.
- It provides no cross-platform latency, accuracy, noise-robustness or concurrent-session benchmarks, and does not cover wake word, speaker isolation, service reliability or production voice-interface integration.
