Install Cyclone DDS
Overview
On AArch64 Linux, this guide builds and installs Eclipse Cyclone DDS from source, enables examples and tests, and validates basic discovery and pub/sub data exchange with `HelloworldPublisher` and `HelloworldSubscriber`. Its ecosystem value is a reproducible minimal DDS-middleware install baseline on Arm, letting ROS 2, robotics and industrial-IoT developers first confirm core communication before extending to real applications and network topologies.
Scope of verification
- The Hello World test only confirms basic discovery and message exchange on the same Arm Linux host; it does not validate cross-host, container, Wi-Fi, multicast, QoS, security, latency, throughput or long-run reliability. The guide also does not pin a Cyclone DDS release or commit; for a reproducible production environment, lock the version and complete network, QoS and security setup per the official docs.
