Zenoh Multi-Node Pub/Sub, Storage & Query
Overview
On Raspberry Pi and other Arm Linux systems, this guide builds Eclipse Zenoh from source and uses Docker to create a reproducible multi-node environment. The workflow implements pub/sub, data storage, query and queryable nodes across devices, validating real-time data exchange, historical-data retrieval and on-demand computation. This communication baseline chains Arm edge, server and cloud, giving robotics and industrial-IoT developers a distributed-data reference workflow extensible to ROS 2/DDS integration.
Scope of verification
- It is a Zenoh multi-node reference workflow among a few Arm Linux devices, validating functional interoperability of pub/sub, storage, query and queryable patterns.
- Dependencies include interoperable Arm Linux hosts, a Raspberry Pi or equivalent edge device, a Rust/Zenoh build environment, Docker, a matching Zenoh configuration and a reachable network.
- Scope centers on Zenoh's functional patterns; ROS 2 appears only as an install/integration scenario and is not fully implemented as ROS 2 multi-node routing, nor does it cover latency, throughput, large node counts, weak networks, security or production-reliability benchmarking.
